Job Summary:
As a Cashier at Wingstop, you will be the face of our restaurant, creating a welcoming and efficient experience for our guests. Your role involves handling orders, ensuring timely communication with the kitchen team, managing cash transactions, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires excellent multitasking skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a strong team-oriented mindset. You will play a key role in ensuring that our customers receive their delicious meals on time and with a smile!
Responsibilities:
- Customer Interaction: Greet and welcome customers both in-person and over the phone, ensuring a positive and professional first impression.
- Order Taking: Accurately take orders in-person and over the phone, upselling menu items and informing customers about promotions, new items, and sauce options.
- Order Communication: Effectively relay orders to the kitchen and ensure that all orders are prepared and delivered in a timely manner.
- Cash Handling: Process cash, credit, and gift card transactions efficiently while maintaining accuracy. Verify age for alcohol purchases when necessary.
- Order Verification: Double-check orders before handing them to customers to ensure all items are presentable and correct.
- Balancing Cash Drawer: At the end of each shift, balance the register and hand over the cash drawer to the next shift.
- Customer Service: Handle customer inquiries and complaints with professionalism. Escalate issues to the manager if necessary, ensuring all concerns are addressed promptly.
- Workplace Cleanliness: Keep the Front of House (FOH) clean and organized, maintaining a pleasant and safe environment for customers and team members.
- Safety & Sanitation: Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for everyone. Promote safety practices within the team.
- Team Collaboration: Work with kitchen staff and fellow team members to ensure smooth, efficient service. Support colleagues when necessary, fostering a cooperative work environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Cashier Experience: Previous cashier and/or restaurant experience is a plus, but not required.
- Food Handler Certification: Required to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using a computerized register (POS) system to process orders and transactions.
- Cash Handling Skills: Strong math skills and attention to detail when managing cash transactions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Able to stay professional and polite, even under pressure.
- Professionalism: Integrity, reliability, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate with kitchen staff and other team members to create a positive and efficient working environment.
