Job Summary:

Preventive maintenance services and thorough inspections, diagnoses, and repairs on equipment and vehicles are tasks carried out by the Diesel Fleet Technician under general supervision.

• Accomplishing assigned tasks demands adherence to predetermined written instructions and established procedures, with limited guidance.
• Executes restoration and planned preventive maintenance tasks.
• The technician performs investigations, assessments, and refurbishments on electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air networks of transportation and devices.
• Leverages the electronic capabilities of vehicles to decipher potential failure modes and initiate appropriate repair measures.
• As a professional in the field of repairing automobiles, one must compute the expenses required for fixing cars and obtain new parts to perform the job.
• Maintains the recommended Standard Repair Time (SRT) while performing all work responsibilities.
• Swift action is taken to resolve unexpected machinery breakdowns.
• Carrying out safety evaluations on vehicles has become crucial to avoid accidents.
• To ensure accurate record keeping of vehicle repairs, parts usage, and repair times, the appropriate paperwork must be completed using fleet maintenance software.
• Provides assistance to senior Mechanics in completing project objectives.
• All repairs need to be taken seriously and dealt with promptly, especially when identified on the Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. These reports are reviewed for repairs that are then assigned or completed as needed.
• Prioritizes safety by adhering to established regulations and keeping a clean and secure workspace in accordance with Corporate and OSHA Standards.
