Job Summary:

The Diesel Truck Repair Technician, supervised generally, performs preventive maintenance services and conducts thorough inspections, diagnoses, and repairs on vehicles and equipment.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Assigned tasks require selecting from established procedures and written instructions, with minimal supervision.
• Carries out mending and allocated precautionary maintenance actions.
• Assessing, identifying, and resolving electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air intricacies on vehicles and equipment is among their responsibilities.
• Utilizes the computerized components of vehicles to detect and analyze failure modes, allowing for efficient and effective repair tasks to be assigned.
• Assessing the costs involved in vehicle repairs and procuring new automobile parts is an indispensable function for mechanics.
• Displays proficiency in completing tasks well within the Standard Repair Time (SRT) limit.
• Urgent maintenance requests are attended to ensure minimum downtime.
• It has become necessary to undertake safety inspections on vehicles to guarantee their roadworthiness.
• Proper documentation of vehicle repairs, parts usage, and repair times is achieved through the use of fleet maintenance software.
• Works collaboratively with senior Mechanics to complete project work.
• Proper maintenance of vehicles is key to their longevity and the safety of those driving them. To that end, the Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports are carefully assessed and any necessary repairs are assigned or completed.
• Complies with established safety procedures and keeps their area tidy and safe in adherence to Corporate and OSHA Standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not require any managerial oversight.

• The minimum requirement for this job is two years of experience in a related field.
