Job Summary:
Wingstop is on a mission to serve the world flavor! Known for our fresh, never-frozen wings, hand-cut fries, and bold sides, we are looking for passionate and dependable individuals to join our team. As a Prep Cook/Opener, you will play a vital role in preparing high-quality food while ensuring the restaurant is ready to serve guests. You will also be responsible for opening the store each day, ensuring that all operations run smoothly, and maintaining the high standards of hygiene and sanitation that Wingstop is known for. This position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to stay calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare food to Wingstop’s specifications, ensuring quality and consistency every day.
- Store Opening: Open the restaurant each day, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly and the kitchen is prepared for service.
- Safety & Sanitation: Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures. Regularly clean cooking areas and equipment, ensuring a safe environment.
- Fryer Maintenance: Filter and freshen fryer shortening daily, using proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Team Support: Assist other kitchen staff as needed and collaborate to maintain smooth operations.
- Inventory Management: Help maintain accurate inventory of supplies and ingredients.
- Product Knowledge: Stay up to date with product and procedural changes to ensure efficient and accurate food preparation.
- Customer Service: Although not directly interacting with customers, ensure that all food leaving the kitchen meets Wingstop’s high standards for quality and presentation.
- Problem-Solving: Notify the Manager on Duty of any safety, sanitation, or repair issues promptly.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Food Prep Experience: Minimum of 1 year of food prep experience (preferred).
- Restaurant Experience: At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant setting (preferred).
- Food Handler Certification required.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on ensuring food quality, cleanliness, and safety at all times.
- Ability to Multitask: Capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Player: Must work well with other team members to achieve restaurant goals.
- Strong Work Ethic: Dependable and ready to take on the responsibility of opening and maintaining the store.
- Good Hygiene Practices: Thorough understanding of hygiene and food handling practices.
- Calm Under Pressure: Ability to stay calm and collected when faced with challenging situations.
