As an assistant, the job is to assist with all operational assignments required at the store, giving emphasis on front-end and sales floor tasks; working in conjunction with the Store Manager to support recruitment, training, and professional development of employees
Another key responsibility of the job is to develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and employees:
- Aid the Store Manager in overseeing daily activities within the store and handling operational issues that may arise
- Skilled in performing all launching and concluding tasks in the Store Manager's absence
- Support the store manager in keeping all business assets safe and secure, particularly the store's cash holdings
- It is necessary to comply with all the policies and procedures, particularly the safety guidelines, to ensure the safety and well-being of all the individuals in the workplace
- Keep a courteous and professional attitude toward customers, colleagues, and superiors to foster an enjoyable work environment
- Execute the proper maintenance of all store sections, from the stockroom to the sales floor, following the guidelines established by the company, including the restoration of any merchandise
- The Store Manager's departure necessitates another person taking on the responsibility of supervising hourly Associates
- Ensure that all stakeholders are informed of any relevant SSC Corporate directives, including information related to Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Surveys
- It is the responsibility of the Assistant Manager to handle any additional communications connected to store operations, as instructed by the Store Manager
- Support the Store Head in managing the receipt and exchange of products delivered directly to the store.
- By following the VIP and DSD policies and procedures, you can demonstrate your commitment to excellence and professionalism in your work
- Assist the Store Manager to ensure all employee work schedules are filled in a timely manner
- Assist the store manager to ensure that the sales floor is actively promoting sales every day
- Assist in the management of all cashiering activities, working to ensure that all company cash handling practices and guidelines are religiously observed by each associate for the safety and accuracy of the business' financial records
- Store-front fixtures and displays: An effective promotional tool
- Help manage and improve the sales performance of seasonal sections of the store
- Determining the most fitting signage for the store's branding
- Streamlining the Process of Handling DSD Merchandise Returns
- The damaged products are handled on a day-to-day basis
- Assist the Store Manager in formulating weekly staffing schedules for employees
- Work to assist in the management of store resources and reduce expenses
- Increase sales revenue by staying aware of customer trends and preferences and adjusting checkout area displays accordingly
- Regular refilling of coolers and store-front program racks/displays is necessary to ensure that vital products like balloon program, sunglasses, batteries, etc. are always accessible to customers
- Collaborate in supervising the implementation of the Drive Item plan
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Retail and management skills are highly sought after
- Top-notch communication proficiency, interpersonal capabilities, and written skills
- Expert in maneuvering and transporting merchandise that surpasses the 50lbs weight limit through exceptional strength and agility
