Job Summary:

Compactor Operator

Conducts multifaceted preventive maintenance operations, investigates and fixes different kinds of machinery, including truck and yellow iron.

The position also requires strategic planning, including the development of short and long-term goals, and the creation of plans to achieve those goals:

To be effective in this role, an individual must satisfactorily complete all essential duties. Additionally, minor duties may be assigned.

• Keep all equipment in excellent working order by performing necessary repairs, including those for bulldozers, scrapers, backhoes, front end loaders, yard trucks, farm tractors, forklifts, and company cars.
• Capable of repairing and troubleshooting various components including differentials, hydraulic systems, motors, transmissions, drives, air conditioning systems, and electrical systems.
• Complies with the preventative maintenance requirements indicated on the checklist.
• Keeps records on file, using forms such as work orders, card files, P.M. checklists, and oil samples, to track maintenance procedures and document results.
• Offers maintenance and servicing for different equipment types, including light plants, water pumps, and welders.
• Provide training and support to new employees to help them understand their roles and responsibilities, and ensure that they are following all site-specific procedures and guidelines.
• Executing supplementary tasks as directed.

Qualifications:

• Education: Not required.

The company requires an applicant to have amassed at least six (6) years of suitable work experience.

Each state has its own set of regulations and licenses that must be obtained, and individuals moving from one state to another may need to go through the process of getting licensed again

You must meet the age requirement of at least 18 years old in order to be considered for this position.

• Proficiency in utilizing tools, equipment, parts, and procedures involved in repairing and servicing vehicles and equipment, as well as expertise in repairing specialized equipment, may be a fundamental requirement for this position. It may also require the ability to accurately communicate necessary repairs or tasks to others, diagnose defects, and repair a diverse range of vehicles and equipment. Experience utilizing a fleet maintenance software program and understanding of the Total Tire Maintenance Program could also be vital.

Work Environment:
